Tellus Production Update 02: Tellus changes its Heart

Sellita has ended production of the SW216-1, the movement originally planned for Tellus. To guarantee the availability of spare parts for many years, I've chosen to move to its successor from the same family: the SW261-1 M, still Swiss-made, still hand-wound, Élaborée grade, with the same D4 finishing you've seen on the prototypes.

In short:

  • A movement in current production, with long-term availability of spare parts;
  • More power reserve: from about 42 to about 45 hours;
  • Same regulation grade (Élaborée) and same decoration;
  • Same dimensions: the watch stays identical;
  • The small seconds subdial sits about 1 mm lower on the dial.

Here are the two drawings side by side:

I'd also like to share the improvements made since the prototypes:

  • Caseback engraved with the watch's own serial number;
  • Redesigned bracelet end links, made from a new mould for a more precise fit to the case;
  • An even more precise dial, with an additional foot for every hour marker for better alignment.

Thank you again for being part of the Tellus journey.
